September 30th, 2007

Debbie Grossman

PopPhoto.com’s Debbie Grossman has a few useful tips on how to take advantage of Photoshop CS3’s cool new features. These features are not in Photoshop CS3 itself but in its helper applications Adobe Bridge and Camera Raw.

How to use them?

1. Let Bridge download your pics from your camera, automatically backing them up in the process.

2. Play with the sliders in Camera Raw to sharpen your RAW images. Works with JPEGs and TIFFs too.

3. Click on the Detail tab to harness the full power of sharpening, by zooming in to ...

Adjust on the fly (Not just for Photoshop)

September 27th, 2007

*UPDATE* - I hear you guys! I wish Adobe included this feature in every program they make, but unfortunately, they don't; however, they DO include it in After Effects, Lightroom, Premiere Pro and Soundbooth (all CS3 versions). So, if you use any of these programs, make sure you take advantage of this great feature.

Have you ever wanted to make adjustments on the fly? There are several ways to resize things such as indents for paragraphs, but here's one you may not be aware of. If you place your cursor right ...

Adobe Systems Inc Logo

Adobe today announced two new upgrades to its digital photo and video software for consumers, Photoshop Elements 6 and Premiere Elements 4.

Adobe says Photoshop Elements 6 streamlines editing with clean, uncluttered screens that bring focus to the photo. New tabs provide simple access to the many capabilities of the program. There are new ...

How to cycle through multiple files you wish to place in Adobe InDesign CS3

September 20th, 2007

I previously talked about InDesign’s hidden graphic replacement tool to replace existing graphics in a graphic frame. Today I have a new graphics placement tip for InDesign users to make placing more than one graphic a little easier.

When you load multiple graphics in InDesign CS3 (which you can do by holding the shift key down while selecting which files to place in the Place dialog box), all the graphics are “loaded” into the place cursor, but the order with which they are loaded may not be the order you wish to ...

InDesign’s hidden graphic replacement tool

September 17th, 2007

One of the highly publicized features of InDesign CS3 is the ability to “load” more than on graphic when you use the Place command, showing you a small preview of each graphic as you place them.

While the ability to place in a graphic frame our outside one is nothing new, you can hold down the Option key and click on a graphic frame which already contains a graphic and it will be replaced with the new graphic you currently have loaded to place.

Indesign CS3 width*height

September 15th, 2007

I was using Width and Height (picture) to change the size of image or some object, but in ID CS2, in new version CS3, if I do the same thing, he only put a viewable size smaller,, but picture size stays the same...

I'm using now 'Free transform tool' to put some image smaller or bigger, but that procedure isn't very precise..

so,, where did they put old fashion "transform" to change the size of image/object (picture).

thanx

Appealing to you in lieu of Adobe Support

September 11th, 2007

I guess I'm being punished for playing with the torrent download of CS3 a while ago, and also for forgetting that OS X doesn't want us dragging things to the Trash to uninstall them.

That's just what I did, and now my purchased CS3 upgrade won't work. It's finding hints of that torrent version. The Uninstall utility can't help because something it needs is missing (trashed). It's telling me I have to reinstall the original software, which it took me like 3 days to download with Azureus. And no, I didn't back it up.
